Ribbons is the very image of her mother, Alliance Designer Bow LOM. Ribbons was bred in Maryland by Tiz Benedict of Severn Oaks Farm. Ribbons is the second of four full sisters sired by the late Severn West Wind (1971-2001, WPCSA Legion of Merit- Sire) and out of Alliance Designer Bow, (WPCSA Legion of Merit- Dam). Ribbons and her sister Severn Buttons 'N Bows reside at Miracle Welsh, while the two younger sisters, Severn Silk 'N Satin and Severn Baubles 'N Beads remain at Severn Oaks Farm. Baubles 'N Beads and Silk 'N Satin were the 2002 WPCSA National High Score Ch. & Res. Ch. Sec A fillies, with Baubles repeating the title in 2003! Baubles has since completed her own individual LOM award.
Ribbons placed well in strong filly classes at the Welsh shows she has attended. She was the Res. Jr. Champion Section A filly under UK Judge Len Bigley at the Virginia Spring Fling Welsh Show as a weanling (Jr. Champion at that show was her sister, Buttons!) In 2001, she was the Minnesota Welsh High Point 3rd Place Section A Filly. Ribbons has also proven herself proud as a broodmare, producing three colts and a filly so far. The oldest two are pictured below, on the left is Miracle Maker, and on the right is Miracle Maid of Lace. Ribbons is a consistent producer of quality foals.
