The Story Behind the Miracles

In our quest to choose our prefix to register with the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America, we considered dozens of possibilities. Our first inclination was to register Fox Hill, as our farm is Fox Hill Farm, but after reviewing the list of prefixes in the latest stud book, we felt that with a number of Fox prefixes already registered, Fox Hill would not be distinctive enough for us. We looked over lists of Welsh names, and considered many of them as possibilities, but we could not come to a conclusion or agreement on them.
Then one morning as we discussed the subject, we got to talking about how blessed we felt to be living on our farm, and pursuing this dream of raising Welsh ponies. And then one of us commented on how it was "something we had wished for."
Over on the table sat a rock with the word "Miracle" carved into it. It had been a gift the Christmas we were purchasing our farm, as we felt so deeply that a miracle was exactly what Fox Hill Farm was to our family. Looking over at it lying there, it became obvious what our "perfect prefix" would be, and we sent in our registration for "Miracle" that very day.
That year, just in time for Christmas, the WPCSA sent us our certificate, registering "Miracle" to Fox Hill Farm.
