There's nobody quite like Buttons. She has the sweetest temperament, classic Welsh type, excellent conformation, and she's a great mother, too. Buttons was bred in Maryland by Tiz Benedict of Severn Oaks Farm. Buttons is the first of four full sisters sired by the late Severn West Wind (1971-2001, WPCSA Legion of Merit- Sire) and out of Alliance Designer Bow, who was the 1994 National High Score Champion Section A Filly, and won her WPCSA Legion of Merit- Dam award in 2003. Buttons and her sister Severn Ribbons 'N Lace reside at Miracle Welsh, while the two younger sisters, Severn Silk 'N Satin and Severn Baubles 'N Beads, remain at Severn Oaks Farm. The two younger Severn fillies were the WPCSA National High Score Champion and Reserve Champion for 2002!
With such an illustrious family, it's no surprise that Buttons herself has enjoyed a very successful show career both on the Eastern Welsh Circuit and here in the Midwest. As a two year old, Buttons herself was the 1999 WPCSA National High Score Champion Section A Filly, and in 2003, she was the WPCSA National High Score Reserve Champion Section A Mare, and her show record in breed classes includes:
She also earned a number of year end championships from Maryland Pony Breeders, NEWPA, NEWPCS, Welsh of Wisconsin, Heart of Minnesota Welsh, and many others. Buttons was the High Score Champion Filly for the North East and South East Regions in 1999, and the Reserve High Score Champion for the North Central Region in 2000, and the High Score Champion in 2003. She was also the 2-time winner of the Elizabeth Iliff Memorial Trophy in 1998 and 1999, and the winner of the Liseter Happy Challenge Perpetual Trophy in 1998.

Buttons' show career has expanded to include blue ribbons in Western Pleasure, Leadline, Leading Rein, and Costume! She is truly the most wonderful family pony you could ever wish for.

When she hasn't been busy in the show ring, Buttons has been at home raising foals, and her daughters (all by Gallimaufry Jaguar) have all been winners at WPCSA shows. Her oldest, Miracle Fancy Free, is doing well in breed classes and also taking home very good ribbons in hunter classes. Miracle Penny's a Pip has been a regional High Score champion, with many blue ribbons to her credit. Buttons' youngest filly, Miracle A Certain Charm, just made her show debut as a yearling in October 2006, placing 1st under both judges at a CA Gold show.
